things i looked at, did, thought, etc vol 18
i’ve been fairly pants at writing the blog recently. another period with lots of head down working or sitting in meetings 😑 with no time for much else
here’s a few things that were of interest:
- Scribble-based forecasting and AI 2027
- Flounder Mode - Colossus
- An app can be a home-cooked meal
- The work is never just “the work” | Dave Stewart i might have posted this before but its good enough to read again 😄
- Kidlin’s Law: The Key to Solving Your Hardest Project Problems — The human side of project management
- Data driven is not the silver bullet you think it is
- Nobody Knows How To Build With AI Yet - by Scott Werner
- Idea Generation - ratfactor
- Digital is everyone’s business: guidance for teams from Beyond the Promise
- On ‘the single view of the customer’ – Dave Briggs
“We need a single view of the customer!” Well, no you don’t, and you can’t have one anyway.
if i had the guts to say that i would have saved many years spent in meetings 😂
and no, we don’t have a single view of the customer nor did we even get the to point of actually trying to implement one
As a resident, i would like the council to stop messing about with expensive software projects while simultaneously telling me they don't have the resources to do basic stuff like cut hedges back or stop parked cars blocking the pavements or do sometimes about all the empty units in town so that i actually get some tangible benefit for my council tax.
